A two-day International Workshop, “India and the European Union (EU): The Role of Religion and Culture in Peace Building” is being organized at Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya on June 24 and 25 at the Committee Hall of the University. The workshop was organized by Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, Liszt Institute, Hungarian Cultural Centre, New Delhi and co-funded by the European Union, Jean Monnet Project SAPHIRE, School of International Studies, Jawahar lal Nehru University (JNU).
On the first day of the workshop, dignitaries from different countries and abroad expressed their views on the prescribed topic through both online and offline mediums. In which the Vice Chancellor of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya respected Shri Sharad Pardhi ji, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Respected Dr. Chinmay Pandya ji, Prof. Shantisree D. Pandit, Vice-Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi; Dr. Preeti D. Das, Director Jean Monnet Project, School of International Studies, JNU; Pro. Bhaswati Sarkar, Chairperson Center for European Studies, School of International Studies, JNU; Pro. Kapil Kapoor, former Vice-Chancellor, JNU; Honorable Daniela-Mariana Sejonov Sen, Ambassador, Embassy of Romania; Dr. Marianne Erdo, Cultural, Director Cultural Counselor, Hungarian Cultural Centre, New Delhi; Dr. Manuradha Choudhary, School of Language, Literature and Cultural Studies, JNU. Be involved. The workshop discussed topics related to the progress of international peace and security, regional stability, prosperity, modernization, sustainable development and promoting cultural ties between peoples around the world. Along with this, the topic of how religion and culture can be accepted as a vehicle for ensuring peace and harmony among nations was also discussed. On arrival at the university, Prof. Shantisree D. Pandit and Dr. Marianne Erdo ji also visited the Baltic Education and Culture Center in the university campus. After the workshop, the guests also visited Shantikunj.
