About the Department: Department came in to existence in May, 2018 as a result of restructuring of DSVV. However, MSc Applied Medicinal Plants Sciences degree program was introduced in July, 2014. This program is unique in the sense that it is oriented towards holistic rural development and biodiversity conservation. The program is showing ample scope for self-employment and employment in public and private organizations.

Research Project Proposals: Under Consideration
Research: The faculty members are conducting research on biodiversity conservation and exploratory botany of medicinal and aromatic plants. At the same time seed science and technology aspects are being worked out. Research on processing of herbs for ayurvedic, unani and homoeopathic systems is also in progress.
Workshop organized: National Workshop on Organic farming and Cow culture (Sept., 2016).
Five days workshop on Agriculture studies ( Its effective follow on and feedback).
Colloquium on Medicinal Plants, Ecology, Himalaya and Society (being organized in Feb., 2020)
