On Friday, 14 February, a program named “An Evening in the Name of the Martyrs” was organized by the teachers and students of the Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya as a tribute to the martyred soldiers after a year of Pulwama attack. Through the speech competition, the students of the club expressed their thoughts on the subject “Nation’s Indomitable Military Power” and paid sincere tributes to those who died for the country through poetry recitation. The program began after lighting the lamp and laying a wreath before the portrait of the martyrs of the Pulwama Attack. Thereafter National Anthem was sung collectively. A documentary was also displayed on Pulwama Attack in the midst of the program by the students. Ku. Smriti shook emotions of all through her poetic recitation.
Satish Pandey, Shikhar Maywaad and Ananya were judged first, second and third, respectively, in the speech competition. The presentation “Shaheede Vatan” received much appreciation from one and all. The Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Chinmay Pandya, could not attend the program due to his busy schedule but sent his message wherein he compared the martyrs to those with high level spirits. According to him, a Martyr is just like a Yogi, who goes beyond the fear of life and death and protects the nation and the nation’s borders. It is through their contribution that the fragrance of the culture spreads, meaningfully, all around. The entire nation should have a sense of gratitude and a feeling of family towards them.
The program was organized Dr. Ritudhwaj Singh and Dr. Ipsit Pratap Singh while Dr. Rachna Verma looked after its management and compilation. Many teachers of the University were present in the program.
