The Centre for Baltic Culture and Studies of the prestigious institute, Dev Sanskriti University, has been officially recognized by the Ministry of Education of the Government of Lithuania, in the Baltic States, through an important recommendation letter. In this letter the Lithuanian Government has approved scholarship for about forty students of DSVV to study in different educational institutions located in Lithuania for cross-cultural studies.

It is to be noted that due to curiosities for the cultures of other nations in Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania (countries located near the green Baltic Sea) that the opening of the first Baltic Centre for Cultural Studies in Asia was being looked at with great expectations by the respective nations. This Centre was established in the Divine land of Uttarakhand State in the campus of the prestigious Dev Sanskriti University. The centre was jointly inaugurated by the three Ambassadors, Mr. Aivars Groza, H.E. Ambassador, Embassy of Latvia in India, Mr. Riho Kruv, H.E. Ambassador, Embassy of Estonia in India, and Mr. Laimonas Talat-Kelpša, H.E. Ambassador, Embassy of Lithuania in India, along with Professor Ina Druviete, the Vice-Rector, University of Latvia, the Governor of Uttarakhand, H.E. Dr. Krishna Kant Paul and the Hon. Chancellor of DSVV, Dr. Pranav Pandya.

Mr. Laimonas Talat-Kelpša, H.E. Ambassador, Embassy of Lithuania in India, had said that the launching of the first Baltic Centre in Asia was a good sign for Lithuania. Giving importance to the research on the cultures of India and Baltic Countries, Dr. Chinmay Pandya, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of DSVV, had expressed that the new research on cultural dialogue can only give new direction to the world.

This Centre has further been developed to promote cultural activities of both India and the Baltic nations. At present, new research works are being done by the Centre on cultural activities through elemental research works, project works, workshops etc.
