List of Activities:

We had proposed above five new villages in place of earlier proposed villages and a proposal in this regard was submitted on 22^nd March, 2022 to the National Coordinator, UBA with a request for approval for the same.  A response from the National Coordinator UBA on change of villages is awaited. However, Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya Unnat Bharat Cell has now completed the survey of all the above villages.

ACTIVITY 1:

Name of Activity:         Pre Survey Meetings with concerned Government Officials and villagers.               

Need of the Activity:    To establish rapport with the local government officials and to seek their cooperation for village survey (s) and implementation of UBA activities subsequently.

To sensitize the residents of the identified villages about UBA and also to learn critical issues and local constraints/problems as faced by them.

The selected villages represent three distinct ecologies. Two villages each from hills and foot hills and one village from plain.

To sensitize the residents of the identified villages a UBA team from the University visited the following villages in the month of April and May, 2022. Meetings with government officials from Narsan (Haridwar), Doiwala and Kalsi Blokes (Dehradun) were also held in May, 2022 and a detailed plan for villages survey was finalised and shared. Details of the villages is as follows-

1. Boodpur Jat (Haridwar)

Boodpur Jat is a Village in Narsan Block in Haridwar District of Uttarakhand State. It is located 44 KM towards South from District headquarters Haridwar. 9 KM from Narsan block office. 83 KM from State capital Dehradun. Distance from Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya about 60 KM.

This Place is in the border of the Haridwar District and Muzaffarnagar District, near to the Uttar Pradesh State Border.

2. Udapalta (Dehradun)

Udpalta is a Village situated at an altitude of about 2000 meters in Kalsi Block in Dehradun District of Uttarakhand State. It is located 36 KM towards North from District headquarters Dehradun and from Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya about 130 KM. Its Pin code is 248196 and postal head office is Sahiya .

Udpalta is surrounded by Chakrata Block towards North, Vikasnagar Block towards South, Mussoorie Block towards East, Sahaspur Block towards South.

3. Rani Pokhari (Mauja) (Dehradun)

Rani Pokhari is a small Village/hamlet in Doiwala Block in Dehradun District of Uttarakhand State. It comes under Rani Pokhari Panchayath. It is located 28 KM towards East from District headquarters Dehradun. 4 KM from Doiwala. 27 KM from the State capital Dehradun and from Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya 25 KM. Rani Pokhari Pin code is 248145 and postal head office is Rani Pokhari.

4. Rakhwal Gaon (Dehradun)

Rakhwal Gaon is a small Village/ hamlet in Doiwala Block in Dehradun District of Uttarakhand State. It comes under Rakhwal Gaon Panchayath. It is located 28 KM towards East from District headquarters Dehradun. 6 KM from Doiwala. 26 KM from State capital Dehradun and from Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya about 35.

Rakhwal Gaon Pin code is 248143 and postal head office is Bhogpur (Dehradun).

5. Itharna (Gadool) (Dehradun)

Itharna is a small hamlet situated at an altitude of about 1600 meters in Doiwala Block in Dehradun District of Uttarakhand State, It comes under Gadool Panchayath. It is located 55 KM towards East from District headquarters Dehradun. About 25 KM from Doiwala. Distance from DSVV about 50 KM.

Its Pin code is 248143 and postal head office is Bhogpur (Dehradun).

ACTIVITY 2:

Name of Activity:         Village Survey

Need of the Activity:    This is the first step and a pre-requisite for implementing the UBA activities.

 The household survey for the above five villages was taken up and completed in the month of June, 2022 with the help of students.

ACTIVITY 3:

Name of Activity:         Rally on “World No Tobacco Day” 31 May, 2022

Need of the Activity:    Protect the Environment and Human being.

The campaign is aimed to raise awareness among the public on the health and environmental impact of tobacco. It will give tobacco users one extra reason to quit.

ACTIVITY 4:

Name of Activity:         Tree Plantation on World Environment Day 5 June, 2022

Need of the Activity:    To live in perfect harmony with nature and protect the environment.

The students undertook plantation activities in the above villages during the survey.

ACTIVITY 5:

Name of Activity:         International Yoga Day 21June, 2022

Need of the Activity:    Health and overall wellbeing

To spread awareness about the practice of yoga and its holistic approach to physical and mental wellbeing students organised yoga day for the residents of Rani Pokhari, Rakhwal villages at Bhogpur and Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya.
