Environment protection and 600th Sunday tree plantation ceremony organized
In the series of Shantikunj Golden Jubilee Year Lecture Series, environment protection and the 600th Sunday tree plantation ceremony were organized on the university campus. Former Cabinet Minister, Government of Maharashtra, Hon’ble Shri Sudhir Mungantiwar ji arrived as the chief guest at this function. On his arrival at the university, he first completed the plantation of trees in the natural and divine environment of the university.
Let us tell you that for 600 consecutive Sunday tree plantation has been done in different parts of the country by Gayatri Parivar Youth Group Kolkata. In felicitation of this campaign, ‘Environment Protection and 600th Sunday Tree Plantation Ceremony’ was organized in Mrityunjay Auditorium of the University today.
In this program, the respected Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr Chinmay Pandya Ji welcomed all the families from Gayatri Parivar Youth Group, Kolkata and heartily congratulated everyone for running this revolutionary campaign in the field of environmental protection.
In this sequence, honorable public representative Mr. Sudhir Mungantiwar ji, who came as the chief guest, said in his special address that this is being run by Gayatri Parivar Youth Group Kolkata to make Vasundhara Maa beautiful and pay her debts through hard penance for about 12 years. The campaign is commendable.
Along with this, he also said that the greenness and divine atmosphere of the university have affected my conscience. The efforts that are being made here to groom the best youth with the basic spirit and objectives of our Vedic culture are rare.
Presiding over the program, Param Revered Chancellor Dr Pranav Pandya Ji said that this holy campaign of tree plantation gives special emphasis to ‘Environment Protection’, one of the seven movements of Param Pujya Gurudev Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya ji. All the students of our university should take inspiration from this movement.
Meanwhile, there was a virtual presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami ji.
Respected Vice-Chancellor of the University Shri Sharad Pardhi ji, Registrar Respected Shri Baldau Devangan ji, all the Deans, Heads of Departments, Professors, Students were present in the program.
During this, the honourable guest visited the university and Shantikunj campus. He mainly visited the University of Asia’s first and only Baltic Education and Culture Centre, South Asian Peace and Reconciliation Institute, Shriram Smriti Upvan.
During this, he said that our relations with the Baltic countries are invaluable and research and study on the similarities inherent in Baltic culture and Indian culture by Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya through the Center for Baltic Education and Culture is unprecedented. Along with this, he also said that the South Asian Institute of Peace and Reconciliation is a unique institution in itself, which is determined to provide world-class teaching and research opportunities for the establishment of religion and peace.
After reaching Shantikunj, Shri Sudhir Mungantiwar ji paid obeisances at the samadhi site of Param Pujya Gurudev and Param Vandaniya Mata ji and visited the premises.
