Honourable Julius Pranevichius (Lithuania’s Ambassador to India) was conferred with the prestigious “Award of Excellence” from Asia’s first Baltic Education and Culture Centre located at the University. The award was given for his social and cultural contribution to the Baltic Centre.

Honourable Dr Dhan Singh Rawat Ji (Minister of Education, Health and Cooperation, Government of Uttarakhand) came as the chief guest during this felicitation ceremony.

During the ceremony, Dr Rawat Ji appreciated the activities of the Baltic Centre for Education and Culture and said that the university has been successful in putting Indian culture and education on the world stage in collaboration with other educational institutions of the world.

Honourable Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Respected Dr Chinmay Pandya Ji said on this occasion that our relations with the Baltic countries are invaluable and we have been getting special cooperation from respected H.E. Julius Pranevichius Ji in developing them.

Expressing gratitude, the Ambassador said that the contribution of the University to strengthening India-Lithuania relations is commendable. The two nations are coming closer through the educational activities here.

Honourable Shri Pranevichius Ji visited all the premises with his family and got to know all the activities closely.

Earlier this honour has also been conferred on the respected Martin Gauss (President, Air Baltic Airlines) and Marcis Aujinsh (Former Chancellor, University of Latvia). University officials, teachers and students were also present during the function.
